Director Antoine Fuqua, who hit the big-time in 2002 with Denzel Washington's Oscar-winner Training Day, fills this unlikely tale with action and movement. Singer-comedian Jamie Foxx (real name: Eric Bishop) plays a small-time crook, wisecracking Alvin Sanders, who overhears a discussion on the location of stolen gold worth $40million. He finds himself offered as bait by the FBI to trap the mastermind behind the theft. This intriguing action-comedy keeps us watching, even though we've seen better movies in the genre.
