A screwball comedy with a terrific cast, this peters out into a series of sketches revolving uneasily around a central theme - a weedy hero caught up in a mess of his own making, involving the 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion, and a plot to assassinate Fidel Castro. Former Woody Allen collaborator Douglas McGrath co-wrote, co-directed, and unfortunately also stars as Alan Quimp, a nerdy, henpecked schoolteacher who - in an attempt to placate his overbearing wife Daisy (Sigourney Weaver) - boasts that he leads a double life as a CIA spy. Allen himself, John Turturro, Ryan Phillippe and Anthony LaPaglia (as Castro) are also on board.
