The £4m project has been riddled with scandal relating to the pair rowing on set and over cuts.
But the couple deny they argued over the film. Guy told Vanity Fair magazine he cut most of the sex and violence because he did not want to see his "missus naked all over the place".
And Madge said she was pleased by the cuts because, contrary to popular belief, "I'm not particularly fond of kissing strange men".
Guy also complains that the vindictive press have already "kicked the s**t" out of Swept Away - "you could warm your hands off the hatred," he says.
Madonna and Guy got the idea to remake Swept Away from the internet movie they made together last year for BMW.
Swept Away tells the story of a wealthy but snooty socialite who decides to rent a yacht and sail the Mediterranean, where she becomes stranded with a Communist sailor.
Co-star Adriano Giannini says he had to slap Madonna around and make her bark like a dog in the "masochistic" movie.
Giannini's father, Italian screen icon Giancarlo Giannini, starred in the original - in the same role.
The romcom also stars Friends star Jennifer Aniston and Hollywood darling Jeanne Tripplehorn.
