A flawed but fascinating dysfunctional family comedy, packed with amusingly grotesque characters. Billy Bob Thornton, who also wrote and directed, gives himself the main role as white trash Claude, married to jealous Ruby (Laura Dern), whose relationship strains at the seams when their Arkansas family unites after an uncle is arrested. Worth seeing for the wonderful cast ¿ Brenda Blethyn is a psychologist in-law, Dern's mom Jewel is played by her real-life mom Diane Ladd and Jamie Lee Curtis and Ben Affleck are amusing as sparring married lawyers.
