Ideal viewing for the dead of night, this spooky chiller, adapted from a mini-series, really delivers the requisite number of jumps, shocks and scares. Lindsay Wagner does a good job as the terrified heroine, a dress designer who has a near-death experience as she is saved from drowning by her old and new boyfriends, Bruce Boxleitner and Robin Thomas. Sadly for Wagner (but luckily for us, since it fleshes out the plot so nicely), she's nearly killed by a passing car and then a stranger tries to drown her. A well-made, seriously scary tale that rambles occasionally but always gets back on the terror track.
