A weird but none too wonderful comedy mystery, with Larry Hagman doing his energetic best to provide some entertainment value as motorbike cop Sherman Holmes. After an accident, he wakes up believing he's Sherlock Holmes, so he's sent to a friendly psychiatrist, Dr Joan Watson (Jenny O'Hara), and ends up convincing her to help him solve a case of murder. Obviously reality and truth are left far behind in this silly Seventies piece of nonsense, with a script so fluffy that the actors just can't grab hold of it. Hagman is likeable, but otherwise this old TV movie is a bit of a time waster: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle should sue. Fans of the early episodes of Cheers should note the co-starring turn of Nicholas Colasanto as the lieutenant.
