Juan Carlos Fresnadillo
Juan Carlos Fresnadillo is one of Spain's most acclaimed and up and coming young directors.
Born in Santa Cruz de Tenereife in the Canary Islands, he has used his native town to film many of his works.
Fresnadillos' list of credits includes Esposados, which earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Live Action Short Film in 1997.
Most recently he has directed the acclaimed Intacto - one of the most heralded Spanish productions in the history of film.
The film received for Goya awards (the Spanish version of the Oscars), including one for Fresnadillo as Best New Director; Leonardo Sbaraglia as Best New Actor; Eusebio Poncela for Best Leading Actor; and also for Best Editing.
