Sophia Bush
Born: July 8 1982 Where: Pasadena, California, USA The actress first attracted international attention with the role of Grace Andrews opposite Sean Bean in the remake of the horror yarn The Hitcher. In America, she was already famous for the part of Brooke Davis in the TV series One Tree Hill. An only child, she is the daughter of top photographer William Bush and his studio manager wife Maureen. After attending Westridge School for Girls (Pasadena) and the University of Southern California she made her big screen debut alongside Ryan Reynolds in Van Wilder. (Her noteworth appearance as a freshman includes the scene where she admits she doesn't know who the band Air Supply are.) She was also cast opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nick Stahl in Terminator 3 but, after beginning principal photography, she was deemed too young for the role and replaced by the actress Clare Danes. Undeterred, she landed the recurring role in One Tree Hill (she married and quickly divorced co-star Chad Michael Murray) and won a solid fanbase. Subsequent TV appearances included Nip/Tuck, Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and Punk'd after being tricked by her friend Brittany Snow. In 2005, she appeared in the romantic drama Supercross and followed that up with the horror-thriller Stay Alive. Subsequent appearances have included the romantic comedy John Tucker Must Die and the lead role opposite Sean Bean in the horror remake The Hitcher.
