The teenage slasher film fans at whom this is aimed will not appreciate the lack of jumpy moments or convincing gore in such a below-par-Wishmaster horror film. Mary (Liane Balaban) is a teenager with an unhealthy fixation on horror films. She and her friends watch the latest slasher, The Wisher, and next thing Mary knows, a hooded figure appears and makes her wishes come true in a violent, twisted way - just like in the film... A slow mystery unravels, full of guessable red herrings and across-the-board bad acting, as Mary tries to find out who is the killer - aided by a school psychiatrist (Ron Silver) and her friend (or is he? ), Brad (pop singer Drew Lachey). Dull.
