This drama - supposedly about the bond between a mother and daughter, but ineffective on that score as it is lacking in depth - stars Joely Richardson (Nip/Tuck) as Laren Sims, a free-spirited young woman who repeatedly steals and cons.
After a stint in prison, she skips probation and runs off with her daughter (Hayden Panettiere) to try and start a new life.
She adopts a number of new identities, and settles down with a wealthy attorney (Colm Feore), but her criminal past threatens to come back and haunt her.
Told from the daughter's point of view, this film is reasonably well-acted, but never really explains the motivations of the characters.
