Kill Bill: Vol. 1
Uma Thurman is the vengeful bride venting her spleen and martial arts skills on her erstwhile colleagues-in-killing in Tarantino's masterful nod to the old kung fu classics.
In "The Matrix" and "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", the characters really looked like they were expert fighters doing real martial art moves. To me, Uma Thurman was never convincing. She looked so un-natural, an American having fun with a Samurai sword. The long restaurant sword fight just looked plain silly. Still an entertaining movie though with a good soundtrack.
Cameron Davies
This film is a seriously good flick with brilliant performances from Uma Thurman and other actors. With action and a good storyline it is one film which you should watch.
Ben Redford
This was a fantastic movie, Despite the fact it had more swearing in it than the Thames has water. Thurman is great and I can't wait till the 2nd instalment. Tarantino at his best.
Michael Owen
Excellent music, action and special effects - blood and gore is so exaggerated that it doesn't scare of make you feel ill! A must see!!
Martyn Yates
I think Tarantino has done a great film, blending the anime, spaghetti western and samurai parts of the movie. I still think he could have made a 15 certificate version with less gore appealing to other people who wanted to see the film.
Mr Pink
This is great and the best that Tarantino has done to date - it's bloody - very bloody - more blood than Dracula could suck up in the next 10,000 years in fact! Uma is an excellent lead character and as she dispatches her arch nemesis with precision - she takes no prisoners - this film leaves a good point for the second instalment of the film...
Joe Small
I didn't really like this film because it was too bloody and gorey. It really frightened me a lot and now it's hard for me to sleep at night...
Tom Byrne
This film was a fun ride and enjoyable, and it had great action scenes. Tarantino has definitely made this his best work... I can't wait to see the second instalment.
Jack Brooks
You've seen Pulp Fiction, you've seen Reservoir Dogs, now prepare to see a work of art like you've never seen before, QT's fourth movie Kill Bill volume.1.
This movie's a cross between Reservoir Dogs, John Woo's The Killer and Robert Clouse's Enter The Dragon - a masterpiece.
All the characteristics of a QT movie captured into one hour and fifty minutes of viewing pleasure.
If you like blood, gore, martial arts, QT and Uma Thurman dressed in yellow with a samuri sword this is for you!
Emma
I dont care if the full thing would have been 4 hours plus, I would have happily sat through the lot!. Bring on the 2nd half, It can't come quick enough!
Mike
Remember kids - this is only half a movie. It's like watching a scratched DVD that annoyingly jumps to the credits half way through. Madsen and Carradine aren't in it - and Hannah is barely in it. Don't get me wrong, it's a blast in full QT/Asian/Kung Fu sty-lee, but it IS only half a movie. (And don't try this at home...)
