The former ballerina is best known for the role of River in the sci-fi hit Serenity.
He early career consisted of acting in commercials and she made her TV debut in Angel - directed by Joss Whedon - in 2002.
She also appeared in the cancelled series Firefly which was to become the genesis of Serenity.
"I’m the type of person where I panic and think, 'I can’t do it! I don’t know what I’m doing here. Let me leave!"
In 2004 she played a check-out girl in Sleepover before director Whedon cast her in Serenity.
