The Butterfly Effect
Dark, time-travelling sci-fi thriller with Ashton Kutcher as a college student whose blackouts give him the ability to revisit his past. Unfortunately his good intentions to change history backfire with awful consequences for those around him... and for himself. A cautionary tale from the men behind Final Destination 2.
It's an engaging, powerful and extremely clever piece of work. With so much intensity through the acting and dialogue, this movie really does persuade me to rate it nothing but 5 stars. Truly mind-blowing.

It's the best film I've ever watched. I've watched it everytime it's been on Sky Movies!! I love it!!
Richard Barnard
I can't believe it only has a two star rating! The movie hooks you from the start. Very dark at the beginning. Horror/thriller fans will find themselves indulging in the tension, as it picks up pace and pulls you from pillar to post. Don't let this one pass you by.

I watched this movie and found it very clever indeed. Even though the idea has been done or at least seen in previous movies this turned out to be one of the best. I still don't rate Ashton Kutcher as an actor but he does his best. Thankfully, the movie is well complemented with an array of good actors supporting and doing justice to the story.

Amazing movie... Ashton Kutcher really surprised me in this film, in which he finally shows his talent for serious acting, and for acting full stop. Kept me on the edge of my seat... Well worth watching.
Scott Stephenson
I thought this film was highly under rated. It kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through until the climactic ending. The cast were brilliant. Sci fi at it's best.
Craig Morgan
By far one of the best films i have seen in a long, long time. I found the acting to be impressive but it's the story that carries this movie through to the dramatic climax. It is a science fiction story but at its heart, it's a psychological and emotional drama. Top Banana!!
Bryan Frame
It's a great film along with a great plot, it's a gteat set-up. The best i've seen for a long time.
Eddy McGowan
The 'Chaos Theory'? That might be the idea that the movie starts with - but it hardly lives up to that as it completely ignores the theory. Hollywood drivel.
Ellie Redrup
I loved this film - and I couldn't understand the bad publicity it got. I think there's some real quality acting, the kids are just excellent and the story is very cool. It definitely needs to be watched more than once as there are some details that are easily missed - highly recommended.

What makes a movie good? Unique storylines? A great cast? I like to think that if you're still talking about the movie after you left the theatre, you've just seen great movie! After we saw this movie, we went for coffee and went over the 'plot' and what it really meant. This movie is a must see! Good job to Kutcher for this masterpiece!
Rachel Hargreaves
Very clever. Recommend it strongly.
Mike Taylor
After a quite shocking first 20 minutes this movies settles down into a good sci-fi/psychological yarn. Draw a line from Donnie Darko to Back To The Future and TBE sits somewhere in the middle. Some clever time/paradox ideas and a couple of good gags balance the dark chill of this film. I liked it...

'From the writers of Final Destination 2' yells the publicity blurb, which pretty much sums up this flashy heap of hooey. However, where FD2 revelled in its ridiculousness, The Butterfly Effect makes the mistake of taking itself quite seriously - not a wise thing to do, given its leading man. Still, if you're willing to go with the flow, it makes for time reasonably well killed.
