The Notebook
Two star-crossed young lovers from opposite sides of the tracks keep their passion aflame despite class barriers, World War II and, er, Alzheimer's Disease. Unashamedly romantic and venom-free, this should be a hit with fans of old-fashioned love stories.
Wow, what a film. I would usually consider myself a cold hearted film critic and difficult to please...but this melts my heart. Even the predictability of certain scenes doesn't fail to have an effect. A must see for anyone who has ever cared about anyone.

I love this film...even if it is sad! I cried for ages. The actors are amazing, especially Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams! Tim Evans is blatantly cold hearted!

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Cried buckets - and I'm a man

There are few films which touch your soul and make you believe that true love can and does conquer circumstance. This is one of them.

Some films try very hard to capture love. This film does it so effortlessly, you wonder why it's so hard in real life to find someone you can be that open with. Nearly all the credit goes to the incredible chemistry between Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling. Mesmerising just isn't the word. The film is truly one of the best romance films ever made, if not THE BEST. Beautiful, moving - watch it with tissues and a bottle of wine. Preferrably with someone by your side, and not a pillow.

I spent the latter part of this film straining my eyes trying to see through my tears, and after it had finished I carried on and had to be calmed down by my partner. That was the third time I had watched it.
In my opinion, that this film is the greatest romance story in the world, the book by Nicholas Sparks is a very good read too. I think that it is worth watching, even if its just for wishful thinking that your Allie and that Ryan Gosling is your love!

I read the novel The Notebook three years ago and cried for days on end... I never imagined that the film could do it justice but it's so amazing and I sobbed my heart out all over again. You absolutely HAVE to see this film - it's romantic and gripping and moving. It deals with issues like class and change and breaking boundaries and it will warm even the iciest of hearts! Tim Evans has obviously never been IN love enough to appreciate the message of The Notebook. A must see movie!
Rachel Greene
This is the most romantic film ever! Even though I cried my eyes out at the end, it was so uplifting it put me in a good mood for the next 3 days. To all girls: watch this! To all boys: unless you're with your girlfriend, don't bother - it wont be your thing, but if you ARE with your girlfriend recommend it to show off your sensitive side - I'm sure it'll pay off!

All I have to say is that I love this film, one of my favorites of the past five years. It is romance in the simplist form, the kind that can touch anyone and everyone. It's lead performances are all spectacular, with Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams two stars to look out for in the future (I recommend you check out their past performances too, you won't be disappointed). Ignore Tim Evans' review, it is well worth the watch. A Shawshank Redemption of the future.

This movie is about a woman suffering from long-term memory loss. And an old man who reads to her, the story of young summer love. Allie (17) and Noah (18) meet and and are immediately attracted to each other. Allies parents don't approve of Noah because he is poor and doesn't live up to their standards. Allie is forced to leave. Noah writes to Allie everyday for a year and after a year of silence he writes a farewell letter to start a new life.

Ignore the man who wrote the review - it's an amazing film!

I think this is an amazing movie! I thought it was so good I went and saw it 3 times! It was not a waste of money at all. The story is about two young lovers getting split up and then reunited 7 years later...
