True Romance
Audacious crime thriller scripted by Quentin Tarantino and starring Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette as a naive young couple on the run from mobsters pursuing a $5million stash of cocaine. If you can stomach the violence - and there's plenty of it - this emerges with a certain style aided by barnstorming performances from the unbelievably star-studded cast.
Without a doubt one of my favourite films. I love the way the characters are all larger than life and cooler than cool. It's a stroke of genius having all these legendary actors having little more than bit parts.
Chris McGuinness
Tarantino's first ever script, directed by Tony Scott (Top Gun, Crimson Tide) whose visual style complements the tight dialogue perfectly. What must be the greatest ensemble casts ever (Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Chris Penn, Gary Oldman, James Gandolfini, Tom Sizemore, Samuel L. Jackson) all deliver, as Clarence and Alabama flee Detroit for L.A. with the cops and the Mafia just behind. A must see for all True Romantics.
