V for Vendetta

Alan Moore's graphic novel about a masked avenger hellbent on destroying a British totalitarian state of the future is searingly brought to the big screen. Hugo Weaving plays V, the masked revolutionary who embarks on a flamboyantly violent campaign to foment revolt.

The most cerebal comic book adaptation to date. Who would expect anything less from arguably Britains best comic writer - Alan Moore. A hugely defiant film and I may be bold to say this but how ahead of the times is it? A scary prospect, one that could do well to be examined more closely. Although the film does not follow the graphic novel to the letter it does convey the overall message. The finale is also most superb.

More thought provoking than Clockwork Orange. Considering the story was written many years ago it has become frighteningly accurate in its portrayal of British Life and where we are heading. This has to be a wake up call to everyone to realise what may happen if we continue on our merry, ignorant way. Stunning acting by Natalie P and Stephen Fry - must have watched this 20 times and love it each time as much as the first. MISS THIS AT YOUR PERRIL.

This fighteningly futuristic representation of an anti-terrorist-obsessed London provokes a scarily exciting feeling of 'what if?' Curfews, govenment experiments, restrictions on art, literature and speech, add to an unbearable feeling of claustophobia. As the government's hold over a nation's freedom increases so does the need for rebellion. As a Londoner living in 21st century, the future threat of totalitarianism seems all too realistic possibility, making this an ominous yet thrilling film.

V For Vendetta was one of the best films I've seen all year! It was so complicated that it kept you right on edge until all the secrets were revealed, which wasn't even at the end. This was just great and the relationship between V and Evey was just mind-blowing. Great job to the Wachowski Bros. They strike lucky every time.

An excellent film. With the people who gave us the Matrix, you can't ask for anything more. A great popcorn movie and well worth the money.

Fantastic film. Well worth going to the cinema for. Though it's quite a long, the plot keeps moving and so does the action.

This was the worst film I have ever seen. Save your money. An unnecessary root canal is better.
