Liza Leaps On Ozzy Bandwagon
Newly-wed Minnelli invites guests (and cameras) into the marital homeIn the wake of Ozzy Osbourne's MTV success, Cabaret star Liza Minnelli and husband David Gest have announced plans for their own reality TV show.
The couple are going to invite their friends - and VH1 television crews - over for an plush dinner once a week for a series to be broadcast in the US from October.
But the show, Liza And David, looks more likely to be a musical showcase than a look at the underbelly of life in the Gest-Minnelli penthouse in New York.
Gest, who married Judy Garland's daughter earlier this year, said: "We are two people who love to laugh, joke and enjoy each other's company.
"When guests step into our house, they become a part of our family.
"We both love every type of music from hip hop and pop to country and rock. We plan to introduce our viewers to great music from every genre."
Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV and VH1, said he had asked Liza and David to provide "a window into the centre of their whirlwind" life.
The announcement of the show comes on the heels of a multimillion-dollar renewal of The Osbournes, about Brit rocker Ozzy's family, and a new reality show about the life of former stripper and new millionairess Anna Nicole Smith.
