Thompson talks the tongue in movie conferenceEmma Thompson has stunned her audience by holding a conference about her latest movie in Spanish.
Emma, who stars in Imagining Argentina with Antonio Banderas, learned Spanish five years ago on an intensive three-day course.
The film tells the story of the thousands of 'disappeared' Argentines who were abducted or disposed of during the military rule of the 1970s.
She said: "This isn't just a story about Argentina, but Chile and so on...
I have realised that this story isn't about the past... the wound is still open.Emma plays a journalist who is kidnapped for speaking out against the regime.
Human rights groups say around 30,000 people disappeared under the regime.
Emma also plans to make a film about musician Victor Jarra, a man who disappeared from Chile and whose exiled child shared a London classroom with the actress.
