British actress Emma Thompson has wed Greg Wise in a traditional ceremony in Scotland.

The couple's three-year-old daughter, Gaia, was with her mum and dad on their big day.

The happy family were also joined by guests including actor Derek Jacobi.

Pregnant Kate Winslet was invited along with her husband director, Sam Mendes, but the couple pulled out at the last minute.

The ceremony took place in a converted barn in Argyll, and Emma wore a traditional white dress.

The 17th century Coylott Inn on the shores of Loch Eck was the perfect setting for a traditional Scottish ceremony.

As they posed for photos in the pouring rain, Emma, 44, said: "We'll need to get inside. Greg has no knickers on. His manhood has been murdered."

The Oscar-winning actress has been living with 37-year-old Wise, also an actor, since 1997, when they met on the set of Sense and Sensibility.

She was previously married to Kenneth Branagh, who also remarried this year.

Emma had IVF treatment to conceive Gaia and has since confirmed she cannot have any more children.
