A formula Burt Reynolds thriller that runs like an extended episode from 'Miami Vice', with Reynolds' trailing of a maniacal hit-man leading to a potential scandal involving drugs, hookers and ex-cops. The star of the show, though, is Liza Minnelli, who gives a feisty and personable performance as the callgirl whose narrow escape from a killer at the beginning of the film proves to be a key element in the plot. Reynolds fans may enjoy seeing him dressed as Santa Claus on an undercover assignment, as well as noticing that the extras in a disco scene look a bit foreign. This isn't surprising as all the movie's interior scenes were filmed in Italy!
