A fascinating, rather odd Western, with Dustin Hoffman playing an unlikely (and occasionally very funny) hero. Raised by Indians, he has to learn to live in white society but goes back to the Indian tribe who brought him up. But then comes General Custer and the Battle of the Little Big Horn... Amusing and shocking in turn, with a humanitarian message in the film somewhere, the film also boasts some amazing makeup for Hoffman as a centenarian.
