Martin Short

A comic performer of stage and screen since the 1970s, Martin got bit by the acting bug while studying to become a social worker.
His first acting job came playing a giant Visa card in a TV advert, and he then worked in musical theatre and cabaret before joining Toronto's Second City troupe, where he perfected his comic creations and impressions.
Towards the end of the 70s, Martin had his feature acting debut in Lost and Found.
In 1984, he enhanced his fame during a season on Saturday Night Live before moving into Hollywood features, where he was paired with Steve Martin and Chevy Chase in the cowboy-hero spoof ¡Three Amigos!.
One of his most memorable performances came as Franck Eggelhoffer, the wedding co-ordinator in Father of the Bride and its 1995 sequel.
Martin impressed theatregoers in the 90s with his accomplished musical comedy work in Neil Simon's The Goodbye Girl, for which he received a Tony award nomination. He then won a Tony Award for his Broadway role in Little Me.
Martin again lent his voice to the animated films, We're Back! A Dinosaur's Story, The Prince Of Egypt, and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
