Denis Lavant

Born: June 17 1961
Where: Ile de France, France

Lavant has been at the forefront of European cinema since his blistering performances in Leos Carax's trilogy of films - Boy meets Girl, Mauvais Sang & Les Amants Du Pont-Neuf.

He appeared as the lead in Claire Denis' multi-award winner Beau Travail and starred as Love in Noli's sexual drama Married/Unmarried.

He has also worked extensively in theatre, recently completing his sell-out one-man show of the Koltes monologue, La Nuit Juste Avant Les Fortes.
