The thought of Whoopi Goldberg and John Goodman teamed may have you laughing before you even turn the set on, but have a care: this is merely an OK and particularly foul-mouthed comedy-thriller whose story just fizzles out, leaving Goldberg pretty much on her own with an unsympathetic character, after making us laugh with a couple of very funny scenes near the beginning. Goldberg's character is based on the hero (with a gender switch here) of a popular series of crime novels by Lawrence Block.
