Tamra Davis
Married to Mike D of the Beastie Boys, Tamra had to do something special to bring her name out of the shadow and into the spotlight.
So she cast the biggest pop starlet of all time in her first film.
Britney Spears brought road movie Crossroads average reviews, but Tamra's name was finally on the director's map.
Her first directing project was the video for the Bangles Greatest Hits, and Tamra then moved straight on to movies.
Billy Madison, in 1995, starred Adam Sandler, and proved relatively successful at the box office. Tamra replaced the original director Stephen Kessler, on the project. Kessler left over "creative differences" and paved the way for Tamra to head up her first popular movie.
Tamra then returned to her musical roots for a while, and directed videos for the all-blonde, all-boy band of young brothers Hanson.
The director will next direct her husband Mike D and Spike Jonze, in a film called Keep Your Eyes Open.
