Despite starring the delightful Goldie Hawn, this drama, directed by Britain's Chris Menges, is an aimless and slow affair that really doesn't find any kind of plot for the first hour. It's set in 1969, when Hawn and her 12-year-old son are trying to make ends meet in Florida's Key West. To this end, she has resorted to stripping. Then the boy (David Arnott) finds he can help mom towards a more respectable job by doing a bit of drug dealing. This sounds okay but isn't. In searching for something grittier than her usual comedy roles, Goldie picked a dud here.
