Native New Yorker Yancy Butler is a stalwart of Daytime American TV soaps.

Born into a showbiz family, the inevitability of her future career was clear from a young age.

At nine she was a regular on the small screen. At thirteen she was a student at the prestigious HB Studios in New York, and stayed there until she was accepted to the famous Sarah Lawrence College.

Law & Order and South Beach are her two highest profile TV jobs, and more recently Yancy has broken into film.

In 1993 Yancy made her motion picture starring debut in John Woo's Hard Target with Jean-Claude Van Damme.

More recently she has appeared in Drop Zone opposite Wesley Snipes.
