Stuart Baird
Born: 1948
Where: England, UK
Baird has an extensive and impressive list of movies under his belt that he worked on as an editor.
But his big break as a director came in the form of Star Trek: Nemesis.
Baird did re-cuts on Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Mission: Impossible 2 for Paramount in order to get the job desired by the world of Trekkies.
As an editor Baird received two Oscar nominations for Gorillas In The Mist (1988) and Superman (1978).
Other films on which he used his editing skills were Demolition Man (1993), Lethal Weapon (1987) and Lethal Weapon II (1989).
Baird's first attempt at directing was for Executive Decision (1996) which he followed with US Marshals (1998) - a follow-up to The Fugitive and as a result the film received unfavourable criticisms when people made comparisons of the two movies.
But this didn't stop Baird who then went on to direct Star Trek: Nemesis.
