The former Miss Teen USA made her big screen debut as Arnold Schwarzenegger's daughter in Last Action Hero.
She landed the role after a ten-month stint as Lisa Fenimore Castillo on the daytime soap Santa Barbara.
After a couple of minor roles, she landed the part of of Sonja Blade, a tough drug task-force leader, in Mortal Kombat, after Cameron Diaz had to drop out.
Small parts followed in Nixon, Final Vendetta and Nevada before she was cast alongside a raft of teenage starlets in I Know What You Did Last Summer.
Subsequent movies included The Suburbans, House on Haunted Hill with Geoffrey Rush and Love Stinks with French Stewart, Tyran Banks and Bill Bellamy.
In 2000, she starred in Sally Field's directorial debut Beautiful with Minnie Driver and The Wedding Planner with Jennifer Lopez.
In June 2000, Bridgette and tennis star Pete Sampras announced their engagement, and in September they were married.
Recent work has included the woeful Just Visiting, alongside Jerry O'Connell in Buying the Cow and the disposable adventure yarn Extreme Ops.
