This sequel to the cataclysmic car crash comedy does have its moments, most of them musical. You could call it a bluesical, in fact, with all the stars doing their own singing and a host of blues legends gathered for the roof-raising finale. There isn't a script to speak of, though, and what action there is proves very silly - especially riflemen firing at a boat on the roof of a car and sending it high in the air. The car-crashing antics, too, get very tiresome, but that was true of the original. Still, Dan Aykroyd and John Goodman both do good work as the new Blues, especially belting out the film's best number, Ghost Riders in the Sky, which is accompanied by animatronic skeleton cowboys ploughing through clouds that eventually deluge the concert below. It'll certainly set your toes tapping in between the boring bits.
