Barbet (Single White Female) Schroeder's once-famous, now-forgotten movie that shocked and delighted arty audiences in the Seventies is finally premiered on telly. Bulle Ogier gives a suitably strict, attractive performance as the sexually dominating, career-girl 'maîtresse', but finds her heart warming to the young, then much thinner Gérard Depardieu. Funny, rude, disreputable, very French, very Seventies entertainment for broadminded adults only. Schroeder certainly knows what he's doing and so do the actors in a key sex film taking a jaunty walk on the wild side.
