Here's a real mish-mash of a movie, with an incredible array of stars, part-improvising, including an amusing scene with Mike Tyson as himself. The film, as a study in race relations, if a little unclear, dips into the lives of both black and white New Yorkers. Brooke Shields and husband Robert Downey Jr are makers of documentaries - he a closet gay - currently working on a film about the hip-hop scene. Ben Stiller plays a dodgy cop, and look out also for Claudia Schiffer, Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings) and Jared Leto. The bizarre events and the film's intensity should certainly keep most watching, with sex, crime (murder, blackmail - you name it) and family tensions, all in there, even if the whole thing is patchy and often doesn't go deep enough into its subject matter.
