From the director of Ghostbusters, Twins, Meatballs and Kindergarten Cop, Evolution is a very silly sci-fi comedy which oozes fun.
When weird Wayne Grey (American Pie's William Scott) is practising for his fire-fighting finals in the middle of the night, the last thing he expects is to be almost killed by a meteor from another planet.
Naturally, this isn't just any old meteor, but one full of alien organisms evolving at a miraculous rate.
The two scientists who discover this meteor obviously have to work for a sub-standard college, although one of them appears to be a genius who should actually be working for the secret service.
As the film goes on and the aliens begin to evolve, the government takes over just in time to mess things up.
Our heroes are facing a court case and the genius Dr Ira Kane (Duchovny) is falling for government helper Dr Allison Reed (Moore).
Will they be able to save the day before the earth becomes over-run with monsters? Will love blossom between Dr Kane and Dr Reed? What do you think?
Evolution comes across as a kind of Alien-Busters and is an overall crowd-pleaser with some nice special effects and more than the odd laugh.
