During his tape audition for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, he preformed a rap promoting himself for the role.
After the first Harry Potter, he starred in Peter Hewitt's family comedy Thunderpants alongside Stephen Fry and Simon Callow.

In 2002, he reprised the role of Ron Weasley in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and in both the subsequent sequels.
