It's good to see Dudley Moore's Arthur again, but he was a lot more fun in the 1980 original, Arthur. When we first meet him, he's still rich, tipsy and married to Linda (again Liza Minnelli, the best thing in the film). Then his ex-fiancée's dad does a deal that leaves Arthur penniless until the ghost of his dead butler (John Gielgud) arrives to sort him out. Moore tries his best and there are some funny moments, but overall the film and the acting have trouble overcoming the weak script.
