Peter Hedges
Peter Hedges is an accomplished novelist, playwright and screenwriter with a variety of big screen movie adaptations to his name, including What's Eating Gilbert Grape - his first novel - and About A Boy.
He has adapted many screenplays for the big screen, but his directing debut came in Pieces Of April, a cute indie film, starring Katie Holmes of Dawson's Creek, and Particia Clarkson - Oscar nominated for her role as a dying mother and wife.
On the back of this successful project, he was named in Variety magazine as one of the ten directors to watch out for in 2003.
Before success threatened to rear its head, Hedges founded The Edge theatre in North Carolina in 1985 and wrote and directed twelve works for the company.
He has also served as a Creative Adviser to the Sundance Screenwriters' Lab.
