Yann Samuell

The former illustrator and storyboard artist made his directorial debut with the dark romantic fantasy Love Me If You Dare.
After film school - where he supported himself as an illustrator - Samuell made short films including A propos de la crise and Mano-A-Mano.
He tried his hand at animation (Overboar) and worked on the documentary short series Les jardins de traverse.
"It's a matter of choice, whether you rule your life or are ruled by others - society, family, educators."
In 2003, he wrote and directed Love Me If You Dare, starring Guillaume Canet and Marion Cotillard.
He dedicated the film to his wife's parents who were killed in a road accident while the movie was being made.
