Set in modern day France this is a comedy with morals - not something easily pulled off!
Daniel Auteuil is brilliant as Francois, a successful antiques dealer - a charming, self centred man who has seen his way through life by using people.
One fateful birthday dinner, his business partner comments on his lack of true friends, which he strongly refutes and so she challenges him to prove it.
Francois manages to find Bruno a taxi driver - an old school acquaintance, who is a genuine and caring person, to demonstrate that François has, indeed, a best friend.
Unfortunately Francois cannot break his old habit of using people - leading to disastrous results for their friendship!
This film is an easy watch, the humour is often dark but at the same time the film has a light comedic feel to it. The characters are real and so succeed in telling a moral tale through dark comedy.
