Christian Bale - The Machinist

In what was possibly the most dangerous body transformation ever made for the sake of film, Christian Bale lost an astonishing 63 pounds - a third of his entire body weight- for his role in The Machinist.

"I suppose some people could look at what I did and say it was ridiculous anyway, but to me, I said it becomes ridiculous at the point that I actually feel like I’m going to damage myself.

"I don't believe I did. And if I ever did feel like i was hurting myself, I would just let myself go with whatever urges I was having for eating."
